Team Tuesday- Wool Lust!

Well this is going to be an exciting week. As some of you may know, my pet rabbit, Hendrix passed away last November. We have really missed him since then. He was a really sweet little guy. When I heard from Hendrix's breeder that she had a new litter of bunnies available, we decided to get a new bunny. We'll be picking her up on Thursday! I haven't decided on a name yet, I have to see her in person first. She'll be a birthday present for me from my Mother in Law and I can't wait to have a little hippity hoppin' bunny in the house again! We get angora rabbits, because we are learning to spin their wool. The wool brushes off naturally with no harm to the animal and it is the warmest type of wool you can get from an animal.
I couldn't find any angora products from New Jersey but I found plenty of awesome hand spun yarn, and an awesome fingerless glove creation made from a luscious yarn! Sort of a"Before & After" for yarn!
Our Etsy New Jersey Team member Pancake and Lulu spun the lovely blue "Mermaid" yarn" in the first picture.

Another Etsy New Jersey Team member Chimera spun this bulky Sweetheart yarn in a lovely pink colorwheel in the second picture!

And for the "after" part of yarn, the lovely Happiknits brings us these darling fingerless gloves. I absolutely love fingerless gloves - and - since it doesn't look like winter is going away any time soon - it's not too late to get yourself a pair!

<--- Thank You Card by AJKArtistry

Today is a rainy, dreary, dismal day in New Jersey. However, there is something I am thankful for - the fact that it is rain and not snow! I am so sick to death of snow! Rumor has it that we are expecting snow Wed/Thurs but hopefully nothing that amounts to anything!

<---- Thank You Card by SiblingStew

So, my feature today is about Thank You cards, my way of sending a virtual "thank you for not snowing" to the great state of New Jersey! I have had the pleasure of meeting each of these three designers in person ( I even went to Elementary School with Sibling Stew! We were great friends then!) and seeing their work up close, and it is even more beautiful in person! So, if there is someone in your life that deserves a thank you - send a beautiful one! These are just as affordable, if not less expensive than Hallmark cards, and so much more beautiful!

Four Wheeling in the Pines

The forest is as beautiful as ever now that Spring is just around the corner (although I'd say the same thing about Fall, I absolutely love the pines in the fall...really, when don't I love the pines?)
So hubby, Neil & I have been going out on many weekends and exploring the pines.
A few weekends ago we entered on East Stokes Road, and ended up around Batsto Village. It was a long way (even on main roads it's a good 40-50 minute drive) But it was a great drive! We found lots of great stuff, some awesome swimming holes that we marked on our GPS to return to in warmer weather, and some beautiful scenery! Here's some pics, they are from two different days...

Exploring a river bed we came across..... Neil's favorite!

We came across this, we didn't put it this way and we were pretty deep in the forest:

only thing we can guess is the forest fire service must have done it, because it looked as if there was a fresh brush burn within the last few week. It was still pretty creepy though haha. It made for a good pic! Maybe it was a geocache too....sometimes you see things like that as hints. I'll have to post about our adventures in geocaching, we have a blast doing that!
